Resistance (R) is defined as:

R=VI

where V is the potential difference between the two points, and I is the current passing through.

The SI units for R is ohms (represented by Ω).

Ohm's Law states that for an ohmic resistor, the resistance is constant - it does not bear any relationship with respect to the potential difference and the current.
